Wimberley Senior Photo Session: Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re a Wimberley High School senior (or a proud parent!), this blog is your go-to guide for everything you need to know before booking your senior photo session. Here are answers to the most common questions I get — all designed to help you feel prepared, confident, and excited for your shoot!

1. When is the best time to book my senior session?

The best time to book is spring or summer before your senior year. Booking early ensures you’ll have your images ready in time for graduation announcements, the yearbook, and social media posts throughout senior year.

Here’s how each season plays out around Wimberley:

Spring: Ideal if you want flowers in your photos. Everything’s blooming and fresh.

Summer: Lush greens and bright backdrops. Great if you want that timeless, vibrant feel.

Fall (early only): Some orange foliage in specific locations, but most of the scenery fades by late fall.

Winter (Nov–March): While the lighting can be soft and pretty, most trees and grass are bare, and natural scenery is limited. If you’re hoping for vibrant backdrops or florals, this may not be the ideal season.

2. What should I wear for my senior photos?

You will get a style guide leading up to your session with all sorts of tips and inspiration.

Here are a few wardrobe tips to help you look and feel your best:

Try everything on beforehand to avoid last-minute surprises.

Skip anything that makes you self-conscious, like overly tight or uncomfortable clothes.

Add accessories to elevate your outfit — jewelry, hats, sunglasses, or layers

Bonus Tip: Avoid self-tanning right before your session. If you tan, do it at least 3 days ahead to let it set naturally.

3. How long will my session be?

I offer two session lengths, so you can choose the one that best fits your vision:

1 Hour: Perfect for seniors who want a simple session with 1–2 nearby locations and a couple of outfit changes. This is also a great fit for senior guys or those who want a quicker shoot.

2 Hours: Go all out! This option is great if you want multiple outfit changes, more than one location, and time for props, pets, or special requests.

4. I feel awkward in front of the camera — what if I don’t know how to pose?

This is one of the most common worries, and I totally get it. The good news? I guide every single pose from head to toe, so you’re never left wondering what to do.

Most of my clients start off feeling nervous — but by the end of the session, they’re glowing with confidence and loving the experience. I know how to pose you in the most flattering ways, and I always make sure you feel comfortable, beautiful, and seen.

5. Can I include props, pets, or family members?

Absolutely! Anything that feels meaningful to you is welcome. Whether it’s your dog, your basketball, your guitar, or your letterman jacket — we’ll make it happen.

Want to include your family for a few quick shots? We can absolutely squeeze them in during any session— no extra charge. It’s a sweet way to remember this season of life for everyone.
