La’Tonya and Aaron’s maternity session almost had me in tears. Before I get into the beauty of their session, I want to give a little back story. I met La’Tonya while working at HEB. This beautiful lady heard that I was starting my photography business about 1 year ago and asked me if I would do a session for her and her fiance. Of course, as a beginner photographer, I said yes! Aaron and La’Tonya came to my 5-acre property and we did their fall photos here. They fell in love with my place and I fell in love with working with them! They were such a sweet couple and just so easy to joke and get along with.
A few months later I was running a model call and they volunteered! This time we headed to the Japanese Tea Gardens in San Antonio. The day was cloudy but their smiles and energy shined brighter than the sun ever could. This time around they were officially husband and wife! That morning we walked around the garden laughing and creating beautiful memories for them. Aaron was so great at helping me with posing that I joked about bringing him to all of my sessions to help me out!
The Winston’s Maternity Session
When La’Tonya asked me if I could take her maternity photos I immediately said yes! How could I pass up such an honor! I am glad I did because this session will go down as one of my all-time favorites. They chose to come back to my property for their session. Of course, it was a very cloudy day and I would be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous. I really wanted them to have some beautiful photos. They deserved nothing less! An hour before our session I walked my entire property and found the best spots for them.
I don’t want to make this blog longer than it has to be so let me just explain why I almost teared up. We always hear that pregnant women glow and if I had to show that in an image I would pick any of La’Tonyas. First of all, the way Aaron would make her laugh when she was getting her solo shots was absolutely adorable. He was behind the scenes dancing and being goofy. He didn’t hesitate to help capture one of my favorite shots of her dress blowing in the wind. When we were doing one of La’Tonya’s solo shots, I had her smile at Aaron. The way she smiled at him while holding her little belly is probably the definition of love. She just glowed! That was the moment I almost teared up! Their love for each other is straight out of a fairy tale.
La’Tonya and Aaron will be wonderful parents there is no doubt about that. I wish them the best in their journey and hope that they will keep coming back to me because I just love working with them!
