Graduation Sessions are new to Momentos Photography and I think I’ve fallen in love with them! It is such an important time in people’s lives and I am honored to be able to capture it! This is why I got into photography in the first place! I wanted to help others around me capture those important moments they can cherish for a lifetime.
I want y’all to meet Leslie, a beautiful lady graduating in December. She is graduating in Bilingual Education. I personally love this and might be biased based on my own background. English was not my first language; therefore, I am so thankful people like her were around to help me when I was growing up. Not only is she doing something wonderful but she is also a first-generation graduate! Her mom came to this session with her and you could just see how proud she was of her daughter.
Leslie’s Graduation Session
Leslie inquired about a graduation session after I did another family member’s photo. Of course, I said yes! Leslie chose the Texas State campus for her session. This was another first for me. I remember touring the campus back when I graduated high school but I hadn’t been back since. Of course, given my lack of sense of direction, I got lost! This sweet young lady was kind enough to come to the parking garage to get me. Before we go further I want to thank her so much for that because I was sincerely panicking! Anyway, when we finally got started I couldn’t believe this girl had never had “professional” photos done. She was such a natural in front of the camera and with her posing. Even her styling choices were fantastic! When it was time to switch to our second outfit she told me something I couldn’t believe, she had picked out the outfit last minute! Wow! My last-minute outfits are nowhere near this good.
We walked all around campus that evening. This girl did it in heels! For reference, this was over an hour-long session going up and down a bunch of stairs so kudos to her! We did all the traditional places such as The Arch and Old Main. We also did some other locations that weren’t as significant but definitely showed the beauty of the Texas State Campus. I will definitely be doing more graduation sessions in the future because I just loved being a part of this exciting time in Leslie’s life. I want to thank her and her mom for trusting me in capturing these moments. Congratulations Leslie and to the rest of the Class of 2021!
